About The Green Bee Coffee Company

About us

The Green Bee Coffee Company story begins with two best friends, Raphael and Daniele, and their wives, Gemma and Erika, who shared a vision of bringing something truly special to the heart of Enfield. What started as a passion project has blossomed into a vibrant business rooted in sustainability, quality, and a deep love for our families and local community.

Sustainability and Quality at Our Core

At The Green Bee Coffee Company, sustainability isn’t just a buzzword – it’s a commitment. From the ethically sourced beans that go into every compostable cup to the handpicked quality of our pastries, we’re dedicated to offering you the very best.

Our head barista, Mark, brings nine years of experience in speciality coffee, ensuring every cup is brewed to perfection using top-of-the-line equipment like our Conti coffee machine and Mahlkönig grinder. We complement this with the finest barista milk from Brades Farm Dairy.

Raphael and Daniele, both Enfield locals, are united by a love for exceptional coffee and a desire to create a sustainable business that gives back to the community they cherish. But this dream wouldn’t be complete without their wives, Gemma and Erika, whose roots stretch from Manchester to Brazil, bringing a global perspective to our little corner of London.

Brazil is not just a place of personal significance but also the origin of our ethically sourced coffee beans, specifically from the lush mountains of Minas Gerais. Erika’s Brazilian heritage brings with it a deep understanding of the land where our coffee journey begins.

The Bee

Our Symbol and Inspiration

The bee is more than a logo for us it symbolises everything we stand for. The word “Ape” (pronounced “ah-peh”), meaning “bee” in Italian, reflects Daniele’s heritage and the vehicle that brings our coffee to you. It also represents Manchester, Gemma’s hometown, embodying hard work, community, and resilience – values we live by.

Like bees pollinating coffee plants, we nurture our community and are dedicated to sustainability and ethical practices. We believe in doing business the right way, which is why we strive to work with B Corp or similar organisations – a testament to our dedication to sustainability, ethical practices and continuous improvement.

Our Piaggio Ape finds its home at the historic Enfield Market, a location steeped in history with a Royal Charter dating back to 1303. Nestled in the heart of Enfield Town, the market is more than just a place of commerce; it’s a community hub, held in trust by the Old Enfield Charitable Trust for the benefit of local people.
